JEENWOO PARK

AI, Software and the Changing Nature of Work

What happens when AI stops being just a tool and starts becoming part of the team?

In this episode of 20min with Frankie, I reconnect with Jeenwoo Park, a technology leader, software architect and long-time friend whose career has followed the evolution of digital technology from traditional software development to cloud, artificial intelligence and AI agents.

Jeenwoo and I crossed paths during our international technology journeys, at a time when mobile services and digital platforms were transforming industries. Years later, we meet again in a very different technological landscape – one in which AI is beginning to change not only the tools we use, but the way organisations work.

THE CONVERSATION

For more than two decades, Jeenwoo has worked inside the technology industry — as a developer, architect, innovation leader and CTO.

That makes his perspective on AI particularly interesting.

Rather than discussing artificial intelligence as something that may transform work in the future, Jeenwoo is experiencing that transformation directly: developers working with AI agents, tasks that once required days being completed in hours, traditional divisions of responsibility becoming less clear, and small teams acquiring capabilities that previously required much larger organisations.

Our conversation explores a deceptively simple question:

If AI dramatically increases what one person can do, what happens to the way we organise work?

We talk about software development, AI agents, productivity, skills and the changing relationship between human expertise and machines – but also about something larger: whether AI is beginning to reshape the organisation itself.

MEET THE GUEST

JEENWOO PARK

Jeenwoo Park — Technology Leader, Software Architect & AI Practitioner

Jeenwoo Park is a technology executive with more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry, spanning software development, architecture, digital platforms, cloud and artificial intelligence.

His career has taken him from hands-on software engineering and architecture to senior technology and innovation leadership roles, including CTO and AI-focused positions.

Throughout that journey, he has remained closely connected to technology itself – experimenting with emerging tools and observing how they change the everyday reality of development teams.

Today, his work and thinking increasingly focus on the practical impact of generative AI and AI agents: how they affect software development, productivity, organisational structures and the role of technical professionals.

IN THIS CONVERSATION

From Developer to AI-Augmented Developer
How has software development changed — and what remains fundamentally human?

When Days Become Hours
What happens to organisations when AI dramatically compresses the time required to create, test and deliver?

AI Agents as Colleagues
Are agents simply better tools, or are they becoming a new component of the organisation?

Experience, Questions and Verification
If AI can increasingly provide technical knowledge, does professional value move from knowing how to do something towards knowing what to ask and how to judge the answer?

Smaller Teams, Greater Capability
Could AI allow small groups of people to perform work that previously required entire departments or external suppliers?

The Organisation After AI
Are we merely making existing organisations more productive – or are we approaching a fundamentally different way of organising work?

20 minutes. One conversation. No corporate script.

A conversation between two people who first met through technology – and meet again at a moment when technology itself is changing what it means to work.
